A Connected and Caring Community

At Drummond Park Pre-School, community is at the heart of everything we do. As a community-based service, we value strong partnerships with families and believe that children thrive when educators and parents work together.

Alumni

As a celebration of our rich history and bright future, Drummond Park Pre-School officially launched its Alumni in November 2015. A special afternoon tea was held at the preschool with founding members and the graduating class of 2015. During this event, handprints from both the children and our founders were created, forming colourful artworks and lasting memories that reflect the strong sense of community at Drummond Park. In 2026, Drummond Park Pre-School proudly celebrates 55 years of operation. Over the decades,
many children, families and educators have been part of our story, helping to shape the warm and inclusive community we are today. As our Alumni continues to grow, we look forward to welcoming and reconnecting with past members of the Drummond Park Pre-School family. If you are a former student, parent or educator, we would love to hear from you.

Parental Involvement

Drummond Park Pre-School is a community-based preschool, which means families play an important role in supporting the preschool and helping our community thrive. There are many ways families can become involved, and we warmly encourage parents, carers and family members to take part whenever they can.

Participate in the Program

Families are always welcome to spend time at preschool and be part of the children’s learning experiences. This might be as simple as joining your child and their friends to read a story, help with a creative activity, or share some time in the play spaces.

Many families also enjoy sharing their interests, skills or experiences with the children. You might like to talk about your work, teach a simple craft, share music, culture or language, or even bring along a friendly pet or animal for the children to learn about. Families are also welcome to assist educators during excursions or special activities throughout the year.

If you have an idea or would like to be involved in the program, please speak with the Director or educators. We always appreciate the opportunity to include family knowledge and experiences in our program.

Working Bees

As a community preschool, we also rely on the support of families to help maintain our beautiful learning environment. Working bees are held throughout the year and are a great way to contribute while meeting other families in the preschool community.

Tasks may include refreshing the sandpit or softfall areas, mulching garden beds, mowing lawns, weeding and helping keep our outdoor spaces safe and welcoming for the children. Families are invited to volunteer for the working bees twice each year.

Your involvement, big or small, helps support the preschool and contributes to the strong sense of community that makes Drummond Park Pre-School such a special place.

Management Committee

Drummond Park Pre-School is a community-based pre-school, which means that the community that uses the pre-school also runs the pre-school. When you pay your child’s enrolment fee you automatically become a member of the Drummond Park Pre-School Association Incorporated. This Association is the legal entity that operates Drummond Park. All members of the Association have the right to nominate for positions on the committee and to vote at the Annual General Meeting each year, when the Management Committee is elected. The Management Committee is then responsible for the operation of the pre-school for the next twelve months.
